At the international Muslim Perspectives on Peacebuilding conference in Southern Calif., major Muslim scholars and religious leaders will be joined by Jewish, Christian, and other faith leaders to examine topics including: reducing domestic violence, engaging across generations, handling interfaith conflicts when building mosques, conflict resolution, developing peace studies programs, and the spiritual dimensions of peacebuilding. Speakers include:
· Imam Mohamed Magid, President, Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)
· Rabbi David Saperstein, whom Newsweek named the most influential Rabbi in America
· Claremont Lincoln Provost Philip Clayton, international leader in the science-religion dialogue
· Najeeba Syeed-Miller, professor of interreligious studies and renowned conflict resolution expert
· Leading Islamic business ethicist Dr. Rafik Beekun
· Muslim family conflict resolution experts Dr. Aneesah Nadir and Dr. Shamim Ibrahim
· Imams Yassir Fazaga, Mujahidden Rushdan, and Tariq Aquil

The recent tragedies of the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting and the Missouri mosque burning underscore more than ever the need for the different religions to build bridges for interfaith understanding and peacebuilding. This conference is a major step in that direction.
