MPAC and Masjid Gibrael present the "Let's Be Honest Forum: Honest Conversations About Taboo Issues" a space for candid conversation with a diverse panel of Muslim scholars, activists, counselors, and student leaders on any and all subjects. We've held these community forums for packed audiences around the country in order to promote and facilitate open dialogue about the complex issues facing American Muslims in their daily lives. The forum presents an opportunity to ask pressing questions in an effort to move our communities toward a more open, and vitally important, space to discuss taboo issues, including mental health, gender relations, women in leadership, and family dynamics. The event is generally 2 hours long, and includes opening remarks from each of the speakers where they identify 2-3 challenges they feel are important for the community to address head-on. The panelists will be:
Salam al-Marayati- President of Muslim Public Affairs CouncilNisar Hai- Religious Director of Masjid GibraelKameelah W. Wilkerson- Marriage/Family Counseling Therapist
It will be a potluck dinner. So, please bring a dish!
