And so it began. Shayṭān’s (Iblīs, the Devil) animosity for mankind erupted from merely a few words…and it didn’t end there. In fact, it sparked a perpetual conflict between truth and falsehood that will last until the Day of Judgment.
“[Iblīs] said, ‘Do You see this one whom You have honored above me? If You reprieve me until the Day of Resurrection, I will surely destroy his descendants, except for a few.’” [Sūrat’l-Isrā’: 62]
He is skilled, determined, and relentless. He will never be satisfied until mankind is embroiled in a state of misguidance and vileness. His number one target: the believers!
But it’s not as bad you think. The way of Allāh is to not leave His servants in their heated conflict with Shayṭān without any aid or support from Him. From His Mercy is to provide for the believers those who would remind and educate them how to remain steadfast upon the truth in this lifelong struggle. AlMaghrib Institute is pleased to announce a new one-weekend seminar which offers a comprehensive study of Shayṭān. Is he the Islamic equivalent of the boogeyman? Is he simply a scapegoat for all of our problems and shortcomings? Who exactly is he?
Why does Shayṭān have a grudge against mankind? Was he wronged? What does he want from us?
Shaykh Saad Tasleem is one of AlMaghrib Institute’s latest additions to its instructor lineup. There’s probably no one better than him to understand the plight of Muslim youth in the face of today’s pop cultural pressures.
“Sh. Saad Tasleem had a phenomenal ability to engage students in the subject matter. It was very clear that he was passionate about the topic which translated into a rich & engaging teaching style.” Zubaida, Ottawa
“The Shaykh, may Allāh reward him, gave us all so many practical pieces of advice and lessons that we can all implement in our lives, so when the seminar does end you know how you can improve as a Muslim and become closer to Allāh.” Ayaan, London
Part of Shayṭān’s unceasing mission is to prevent or divert Muslims away from any form of goodness and obedience to Allāh. If there is one course that he would not want you to take, it would be this one as the entire weekend is dedicated to studying about him and his deceptions.
